What about the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?

We are pleased to announce that starting today, July 8, 2024, we are able to send claims through on this new plan. The government’s carrier (Sun Life) is accepting these on “a claim-by-claim basis” and as we navigate through the process, we are hopeful that it will be an excellent benefit for our patients.

If you are eligible for coverage, you should have received a card issued by the federal government. We will need the information on your ID card to get an estimate of what you can expect Sun Life to pay toward your treatment.

Please keep in mind that the CDCP is a subsidy and does not cover the total fee for dental care. There will always be a portion of the fees that will be the patient’s responsibility.

We are thankful for the financial help that this plan will be for many of our patients who would otherwise not have dental benefits available to them. With the irregularities of this plan, there will no doubt be some issues to work through, and we appreciate your patience as we help you to get the benefits you are entitled to.
